The Second New Year in the U.S.

1st January 2014

Last year I celebrated Christmas with my uncle in California. This year I had been traveling to three wonderful families; Hawthorne, the Broussard, and the Casey. After more than three weeks I came back to my uncle's house in Irving. I was so glad to spend time with those families and took family pictures for them. Even though, I did not have a chance to see fireworks for the new year countdown but from all the time I have spent with them. I was so much happy and did not want to ask for anything else.

The Hawthorne

The first family I stopped by was the Hawthorne. I knew this family from Rachel Hawthorne. She was born is the U.S. but grew up in Brazil. Rachel can speak Spanish and Potugese fluently as her family. I was with them for five days with Hyunjun, Zihyun, and Ena. I took the family pictures at the first day at a park near by the house. The weather was beautiful and children cooperated for taking pictures very well. Also, I met Mr.Blue, the first Betta I had seen in the state. We also went to Grand Prairie to see Christmas light. Time went fast. Brittany came to pick me up to stay with her family for another week.

I have been with the Broussard once on Thanksgiving. I know Brittany from working in Student Publication. Brittany works in JTAC, which is a school newspaper. Basically, we have to work together most of the time such as sports and school events. The last time I took her family pictures and this time I asked her if I could stay with her family durring Christmas. This time, we went to sing Christmas carols with the Matthews and went to Dallas for the Chinese Lantern Festival. I glad to have gift exchanged with this family before I left to live with the Casey on Dec 26.

The Broussard

Elizabeth Casey came to pick me up at Brittany's house with Zihyun after Christmas. They were starving so we stopped by University of North Texas, which I studied here for a year and a half, to have lunch. We had lunch at the Chipotle near by the campus. After that I took them a tour at UNT and showed Zihyun the difference between TSU and UNT. Student population in UNT is double from TSU, so that makes sense for everything that UNT has double size. In the same day, we went to Elizabeth's cousin birthday party in Fort Worth downtown and we met Ena and Samuel, her brother, at Olive Garden. Christmas lighting in the Fort Worth was amazing and we walked around the area. The next day, we went to Botanical Garden for taking her parents business portraits and family pictures. I had so much fun with them. The last day, Elizabeth and I took Zihyun to the DFW airport and we came back to Stephenville on the same day.
